Pines Rocks

Terms

Last updated 21 August 2026

These terms cover pines.rocks and the software published by Pines Rocks. Using the site or the software means you accept them.

Who you buy from

Pines Rocks software is sold through Polar, acting as merchant of record. That means your purchase contract is with Polar: Polar takes the payment, issues the invoice, handles sales tax and VAT, and is the counterparty on the receipt. Polar’s own terms of service apply to the transaction itself. Pines Rocks develops and supports the software, and issues your licence.

Your licence

Buying a Pines Rocks product gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it. You may install it on machines you control. You may not resell it, redistribute it, or publish your licence key.

The terms of a specific product are stated on that product’s page, and those terms govern what you actually bought. For Pines Voice today that is a one-time purchase, a fourteen-day trial before you pay anything, and one year of included updates, after which the version you own keeps working without further payment. Terms may differ between products and may change for future purchases; a change never alters what you already bought.

Trials

Where a trial is offered it is the complete product with nothing withheld, for the stated period, without a payment method. When it ends the software stops transcribing until a licence key is entered. Your own data stays where it is.

What we promise, and what we do not

We build these tools carefully and use them ourselves every day. We do not promise that software is free of defects, that it will suit a particular purpose, or that it will work uninterrupted, and to the extent the law allows, the software is provided as is. Our liability is limited to what you paid for the product.

Some products depend on services we do not control, such as a transcription provider you bring your own API key for, or Apple’s operating system. We are not responsible for those services, their pricing, or their availability. Any charges you incur with a third-party provider are between you and them.

Support

Support is by email at support@pines.rocks. We aim to answer every message from a real person. We may decline to support modified builds or use on unsupported operating system versions.

Refunds

Refunds are covered separately in our refund policy.
